Allen Weiner, Ph.D.
Allen Weiner is the Managing Director
of Communication Development Associates,
Inc. in Woodland Hills, California. He
was one of the firm's founders. CDA
celebrated its 35th anniversary in
March 2010.
Allen has since served as an advisor
to senior management on a variety of
issues related to human communications.
His external responsibilities include
on site delivery of seminars and
individualized coaching.
Allen completed the Bachelor and
Masters degrees in Speech Communications
at West Virginia University. He received
his Ph.D. in Communication Studies in
1976 from the Annenberg School of
Communications at the University of
Southern California
His research interests were and
remain persuasion, personal influence
and interpersonal credibility. Allen
spends his free time in rare books
stores, taking bass guitar lessons and
traveling with his family. His first
book So Smart, But... (Jossey-Bass)
was released in October, 2006. His
second book, I'm What??? is
scheduled for release in January 2011.
Allen is married to Carol Weiner and
has a son, Matt, who is a Congressional
Aid in Congress in Washington, DC.
